Job Purpose:
Developing and executing experiential marketing strategies for the brand and stakeholders to bring brand proposition to life. The scope further includes creating memorable immersive impact on targeted segments and engagements. It involves marketing through experiences that engage the customers and create an emotional attachment to the brand through physical and interactive experiences used to reinforce the brand and make customers and stakeholders feel as if they are part of the brand. Develops and executes strategies for brand-focused events and campaigns to drive brand visibility, customer and stakeholder engagement, and brand awareness.
Minimum Qualification requirements & Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (brand management, marketing or equivalent).
- Post graduate or advanced degree (an added advantage).
- Brand campaign (on the ground) and through the line experience.
- Brand activation management experience.
- 6+ years of experience in planning, developing and launching of products/services and at a managerial level within marketing and communications environment.
- Previous experience in complex stakeholder environments – including a proven track record of accomplishment in a matrixed, fast-paced, rapidly growing, and customer centric environment.
Key Performance Areas:
- Participate in the development of the Brand SA’s business strategy.
Contribute to the development of and operate according to the Brand SA’s 3-year strategic plan and annual business plan. Ability to translate business strategy into brand activations strategy.
2. Contribute towards the Marketing Strategy.
- Contributing towards the development and implementation of the Brand SA’s marketing strategy and marketing operational plans.
3. Develop, implement and manage the brand experience and Events Strategy.
- Develop, manage, direct and oversee event operations of bringing the brand experience to life.
- Lead Brand development and execution of annual marketing activation plans that drives achievement of business objectives.
- Analysing and mapping the brand value chain across the stakeholder operations.
- Execute in line with the budget key strategic programs to increase brand value globally, regionally and locally – 360° events plans.
- Ensure competitive perspectives and differentiated value propositions generated through market-relevant insights.
- Analyse event operations and prepare and implement recommendations for improving operational efficiencies within the events.
4. Planning and Organising.
- Implementation of project management principles and development of project plans aligned to the marketing plans.
5. Stakeholder engagements.
- Strong leadership regarding how the roll-out of the events manifest across all touch points and operations. Working with multi-faced stakeholders on complex projects.
6. Staff Management and Development.
- Performance Management – ensure that team members achieve their Performance Objectives as per individual agreements.
- Staff development, motivation and training.
7. Financial management/oversight and compliance.
- Budget planning and allocation and monitor expenditure in accordance with marketing plans and ensure compliance with relevant policies.
- Manage financial resources cost effectively.
8. Compliance, monitoring and reporting.
- Ensure compliance to all legislation impacting on Brand SA including reporting on a marketing and communications-related risk management plan (e.g. content that may be considered controversial in ad campaigns).
- Contribute to monthly and quarterly management reports (content, financial and staff, etc).
Required Technical Skills, Competencies and Attributes:
- Strong Project Management: Working knowledge of all elements of the marketing, research, stakeholder management and communications function, including market planning and development, customer and stakeholder relations and managing marketing partners.
- Communications: Knowledge of operations of the South African and international media.
- Working knowledge of the public sector.
- Knowledge of the broad political, legislative and economic arenas – locally and internationally, i.e. awareness as a global citizen.
