Well-wishers sent off 27 climbers who plan to summit Mount Kilimanjaro with Trek4Mandela, a Mandela Day initiative set up to help young women in rural South Africa. It is the fourth year of the campaign.

For the fourth year, Trek4Mandela will climb Mount Kilimanjaro, summiting the peak on 18 July, Madiba's birthday. The organisation is raising funds for the health and hygiene of rural and poor schoolgirls.

The third annual Trek4Mandela will see a group of explorers driving through Botswana, Zambia and Tanzania before summiting Mount Kilimanjaro on 18 July - Nelson Mandela International Day - in support of Caring4Girls and in celebration of South Africa's 20 years of democracy.
