Although South Africans believe corruption increased significantly in 2015, Brand South Africa research based on Transparency International studies has found that negative perceptions of corruption in South Africa are low compared to its peer nations.

South Africa’s fight against corruption continues

South Africa's ranking in the 2015 Corruption Perceptions Index drawn up by the international organisation, Transparency International, has shifted favourably compared to 2014, moving from 67 to 61. But there is still work to be done to eradicate corruption for good.
