American Tanner Gudauskas celebrated the biggest victory of his professional surfing career by winning the six-star-rated Mr Price Pro Ballito near Durban on Sunday.

South African surfer Travis Logie and former Port Elizabeth schoolgirl Philippa Anderson captured the men's and women's titles respectively in the Mark Richards Pro and the Maitland Toyota Women's Pro at Merewether Beach in Australia on Sunday.

Every year, top German windsurfers come to Langebaan outside Cape Town to test the latest in sailing equipment in a place that may offer the best boardsailing conditions in the world.

It's summertime in South Africa, and time to head for the beach. The country has more than 2 500 kilometres of coastline, stretching from the cold waters off the arid West Coast region, southwards around the tip of Africa, and heading up again all the way to the lush St Lucia estuary in the east.

Every year top international surfers gather at Dungeons beach near Cape Town for the Big Wave Africa competition. The massive waves of the stormy Atlantic make it dangerous surf, not least for the highly trained rescue teams that keep everyone safe.
