South Africans have been urged to give Rolene Strauss, the newly crowned Miss World, a proudly South African welcome. She lands at OR Tambo International Airport on Saturday morning, and members of the public are invited to come along, bearing flags, posters and vuvuzelas, to show their support.

An estimated one billion viewers watched as Miss South Africa - 22-year-old Rolene Strauss - was crowned Miss World 2014 at the pageant's final in London on Sunday. She is the first South Africa to win the title since Anneline Kriel in 1974.
