Sports scientist Tim Noakes has won the University of Cape Town Book Award for the fourth edition of Lore of Running, the best-selling guide that is widely regarded as the "Runners' Bible", covering everything from the latest in research to training schedules, nutrition, psychology and advice on injuries.

Human evolution dating back 3.6 billion years, and humanity's struggle for freedom in South Africa, are among the stories that will be told at Freedom Park, a one-stop heritage site that will tell SA's tale in an interactive way, portraying a vision for the future embedded in the African Renaissance.
