South African family opens home to refugees

A KwaZulu-Natal family has taken in 143 foreign nationals who were displaced by the xenophobic attacks in the province earlier this year after the last temporary camp set up for them was closed. The Wartnaby family is appealing for donations of household items for the refugees.

Bokoko literacy project brings books and libraries to Africa

Born in Spain but of African descent, Bisila Bokoko was so moved by a trip to discover her roots that she set up the Bisila Bokoko African Literacy Project. Through it, she builds libraries, donates books to African children, and runs a scholarship fund.
