I am a passionate youth who always wants to see his community acknowledge the dreams and talent children have. I am part of a positive youth movement called 412 Movement, which was started last July.

We currently focus on hip hop as is the dominating and influential force in our community. 412 Movement mentors ,grooms ,nurtures and promotes talents and dreams of our fellow youth.

We came with a movement because we saw many talented youth acting solo and didn’t make much impact when acting individually, seeing them perform was good but knowing that without a team they going no were was painful.we were hosting sessions where people come and show community what they got. We host sessions at our public shops so we can share the fun with other dreamers and to make ourselves known.

For now we cater for hip hop, dance, rap, singing, poetry, literature, djaying, debate, etc.

We are very influential in our village of Maubane, One Ten in North of Pretoria, Hammanskraal, is not easy to get our dreams to the top but with the supportive youth and parents even our churches we slowly getting there.

At first it was so hard for parents to understand this hip hop thing, since they saw a positive change towards their children they got interested in it.we don’t have proper resources but we are trying to get the act together, now we have been offered a one room building in some yard, were some grannies were supposed to use for their sewing or making garments and curtains. Is not complete but is worth it.

We will build a studio in it and an office. At the moment we are focusing on improving children and youths lives first in our community before we can go to other disadvantaged communities. On the 28 July 2012, we will be hosting our hip hop event, the categories are dance, rap, poetry, djaying, beat-boxing etc.

We even got our website – it is not that complete, but there is information www.412movement.co.za.
