Team South Africa will again be joining world leaders at the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos, Switzerland, with the 45th gathering running from 21 to 24 January 2015. The meeting is an opportunity to enhance South Africa’s global reputation and tell the country’s story of economic competitiveness and social cohesion.

This year the discussion will centre on the theme of “The New Global Context”.

“Complexity, fragility and uncertainty are potentially ending an era of economic integration and international partnership that began in 1989,” WEF says on its website. “What is clear is that we are confronted by profound political, economic, social and, above all, technological transformations. They are altering long-standing assumptions about our prospects, resulting in an entirely ‘new global context’ for decision-making.”
