
The G20 Leaders’ Summit is eleven days away. South Africa is the first African country to host the G20 leaders’ summit. This is a vote of confidence in our institutions and our role as a bridge between regions. Our focus is on practical cooperation that supports inclusive growth, energy security, logistics improvements, investment, trade and skills.

The African Union and the European Union have expressed support for South Africa’s G20 presidency. It reaffirms our presidency and deepens partnership in areas that include trade, clean industry, logistics and skills.
Our focus is on practical cooperation that delivers shared prosperity. This includes advancing energy and logistics reforms, growing investment and trade, expanding digital inclusion and skills, and supporting sustainable and inclusive growth.
As G20 host, South Africa is convening partners to address shared challenges, opportunities and new investment ambitions. As a trusted convener of the G20 Leaders’ Summit, the benefits are real for the country’s economy.
