15 August 2022 – Johannesburg, Brand South Africa welcomes Miss South Africa 2022, Ndavi Nokeri and Top Ten Finalist, Pearl Ntshehi as Play Your Part Ambassadors following the finale on Saturday, 13 August 2022.
The Miss South Africa organisation is one of Brand South Africa’s vision partners. Both organisations’ objectives have long been in alignment in that we seek to celebrate and inspire nation pride while making a meaningful impact in our very complex society.
As the official agency mandated with managing the image and reputation of the country, Brand South Africa strongly believes that citizens are at the centre of nation building and promoting social cohesion. The organisation highlights this by celebrating citizens who advocate for the betterment and prosperity of our country; and by celebrating South Africans who fly the flag high on global stages.
Established in 2011, the Play Your Part programme encourages and supports individuals and organisations who get involved and are responsible citizens that uplift their communities. It is a nationwide social movement that aims to lift the spirit of our nation by inspiring all South Africans to contribute to positive change in various areas.
Nokeri and Ntshehi join over 200 distinguished active citizens who have been recognised and endorsed as ambassadors in the promotion of the Nation Brand. The partnership with the Miss South Africa pageant provides a platform for young South African women to add their share of voice in spaces that inspire change.
The onboarding ceremony took place at Sanctuary Mandela, which is Tata Madiba’s primary place of residence, following his return from 27 years’ imprisonment. The calibre of individuals and groups that have been hosted on the premises includes an array of human rights advocates, change makers, leaders and champions for freedom and equality. This is a space for reflection and hope, inspired by the life and times of Nelson Mandela – who, as we know, was a man whose love for his country and her people inspired movements across the world.

Ntshehi, who won the Play Your Part Ambassador Award at the Miss South Africa Finale has an inspirational story of an unwavering determination to ensure that women’s voices are heard in spaces of leadership.
