Brenda Mamputa founded the Khayelitsha Modelling School is to help young women with the issues of substance abuse and teenage pregnancies.

The two above stated critical elements lead young women to the deadly HIV/AIDS epidemic.

A lack of resources and infrastructure in Khayelitsha has led many a young person to turn to alcohol and crime, and her burning desire to facilitate Miss Khayelitsha 2012 derives from the above stated factors.

She saw it fitting that she creates a platform where young girls will find solace and hope for a better tomorrow. She therefore embarked on a journey that will see us package young girls God given talents; this project will help them channel their talents towards a positive direction for their own long term benefit.

Her research has proved Khayelitsha lacked role models, whether it is in sporting codes or arts, she therefore ought to use Miss Khayelitsha Peagents as a celebrity/role model tool; one that will manufacture a new breed of young women to look up to.

She believes that such will go a long way in shaping the community of Khayelitsha and the Western Cape Province at large.

Khayelitsha Modelling School seeks to build, educate, liberate and celebrate young women whilst bringing joy to the many mothers who have a dying wish of seeing their daughters participate in self-awareness programs.
