I am 27 yrs old and I am from Indermark in Limpopo. I am running a non-profit organization program called “YOU CAN”, which is here to help Blouberg youth at secondary schools.
The aim of this organization is to help youth to realize their dreams and to reach their destination. I am helping them by teaching them about different careers and which subject they must do to do the course they want.
I invite well known people to come and motivate them, like on the 12 July 2012 DJ Boeli from Thobela FM and DJ Cappucino from Capricorn FM was motivating grade 12 students.I am teaching them mathematics at night when i come back from work and on the Saturdays.
My passion for this program derived from my poor family background and stagnant post grade 12 in 2002 without knowing which career path to follow, until I find out that I can go to school without having cash in my pocket but only by working hard and having a goal.
It is my calling to help people to fight poverty and motivate them. These are the words that push me:
1. We are required to walk our own road and then stop, assess what we’ve learnt and share it with others. Only in this way can the next generations learn from those who’ve walked before them. By Albetina Sisulu
2. Deep pain gives you a completely different perspective on life. You come out of it much richer and more sensitive to others and wanting to touch their lives. By Graca Machel Mandela.
