Youth entrepreneurial excellence will be celebrated for the first-time in South Africa at the inaugural Maverick Awards; SA Young Entrepreneur Awards gala dinner on Friday 13th of June 2014. The Maverick Awards, hosted by Under 35 Mavericks – a dynamic youth owned enterprise development consultancy – will be launched to coincide with the country’s annual Youth Month. Key strategic partners include, amongst others, South Africa’s marketing and reputation management agency – Brand South Africa and the Wits Business School’s Centre for Entrepreneurship as an academic thought leadership partner, Glenfiddich, Parker and Intel Corporation just to mention a few.
Under 35 Mavericks, seeks to lead the accelerated development of a new generation of young, innovative entrepreneurs from today’s young, enthusiastic and inspirational young people. It is intended that these young entrepreneurs will go on to make valuable contributions to the South African economy which will contribute to improving the lives of all South Africans.
By uniquely positioning themselves, Under 35 Mavericks will rollout initiatives and programs which will assist young entrepreneurs in the critical areas of market access, creativity and value innovation for sustainable competitive advantage, business growth strategy, marketing for growth in depressed economies, leadership for entrepreneurs, investor readiness as well as value asset creation.
This momentous and prestigious inaugural award ceremony promises to bring together the brightest and most influential minds from government ministers, and senior public office bearers, captains of industries, seasoned entrepreneurs and of course, the successful young entrepreneurs from across the country upon whom awards will be inferred on the night.

It is for this reason that the Maverick Awards are looking to identify and acknowledge young entrepreneurs across all industries and sectors who display future oriented, solutions driven, innovative methods, strategies, business models and technologies as their mainstay to success along with sustainable turn-over, increasing market share, growth, employment creation and service excellence.
The Maverick Awards will recognise 10 categories of young entrepreneurs and nominations are open to all young entrepreneurs between the ages of 18-35 who operate their businesses within the borders of South Africa and have been in operation for at least 3 years, turning over a minimum of R1 million in revenue per annum.
