You have to hand it to Bafana Bafana, they will always catch you by surprise as they did on the 3rd of March by coming up with something new and ingenious.The SA soccer stars have a new jersey! A dark green “ubuntu’ inspired creation that is bound to set them apart from any other team at this year’s Fifa World Cup.

Revealed

The jersey was unveiled to the public during their game against Namibia held at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on the 3rd March 2010.

The “away kit’ comes in the mystical colours “Twilight and Forrest Green’ and “will further identify the hosts of the 2010 FIFA World Cup’ says Zobuzwe Ngobese, the PR Manager at Adidas South Africa.

Sport24.com reports that the jersey has been designed in a way that will represent and unify the country. How you may ask? The jersey is woven with 11 threads that are symbolic of the country’s diversity and also hosts a myriad of traditional South African artwork. It is said the 11 threads also represent the 11 languages spoken in the South Africa.

With the “Home’ kit and the “Away’ kit South Africa’s Bafana Bafana seems ready to take on the world.
