South African services and solutions provider Dimension Data (Didata) has formed a global partnership with American mobile security and device management provider AirWatch.
The agreement was announced in Johannesburg last Wednesday.
“The global availability of the solution has already been welcomed by a number of Dimension Data’s clients in South Africa and Europe who have cited the growing need for solutions to manage corporate and employee-owned mobile devices, protect corporate data, distribute enterprise applications and secure mobile access to corporate documents,” Didata said in a statement.
Through its enterprise mobility framework, Dimension Data offers a 360-degree view of all areas affected by the move to mobile, according to Didata’s general manager for security solutions, Matthew Gyde.
“Security remains one of the most critical considerations and, if not effectively managed, creates the biggest area of corporate risk,” Gyde said.
“Given the multi-geography nature of Dimension Data and our clients, we needed a partner with a powerful technology platform that we could work with across all regions.”
To showcase the partnership and Dimension Data’s enterprise mobility offerings, the firm will participate in the AirWatch Connect 2013 conference in Barcelona, Spain from 25 to 28 February.
“We recognised Dimension Data is a significant provider of security services to the market today,” said president and chief executive officer of AirWatch, John Marshall.
“This, combined with their focus on providing clients with end-to-end mobility services around the world, makes the partnership a natural fit.”
